Daisy’s Bakery and Tea Rooms, Sandown

Date visited: Monday 21st June 2021

Daisy’s has an eye catching appearance for those approaching from Sandown sea front. It offers one long room for those taking tea. Hot and cold beverages are offered but the range of teas is relatively small. The menu is simple but extensive, covering breakfast, midday meals and afternoon teas. The cake selection is quite extensive as is the range of pies and pastries. The overall ambience is one of a local cafe, and it was apparent that there are plenty of regular customers. However tourists are welcomed too, and tempted in by the display of cakes in the window and menus on blackboards at the front of the tearooms. The walls of the tearoom are decorated with art prints by local photographers.

A ham ploughmans, chocolate fudge cake and a pot of green tea.

A ham ploughmans, chocolate fudge cake and a pot of green tea came to £9.30. Overall the meal was unremarkable, but good value for money. With hindsight, and having seen what others were served, I should have opted for one of Daisy’s savoury pies instead of the ploughmans.
