The Settle Tea Rooms served a fine, though slightly vinegary, eggs Benedict. Unfortunately their teapots are of one of the unfortunate designs that do not pour cleanly, dribbling tea over the table rather than pouring neatly into the cup. The tea rooms were very busy but despite that service was excellent.
Outside in Cheap Street, a small stream runs along an open gutter in the centre of the street. The shops and restaurants on the street use their signs as a combined advert and health and safety aid.
