The small village of Lympstone is on the eastern bank of the River Exe. It is on a long distance cycle route and on the south west coast path, so the tearoom gets quite a bit of passing trade on fine summer days. Tea can be taken both inside the small tea room and at a couple of tables outside at the front.
Susannah’s opened on 8th August 2018, and a recent check suggests it is surviving its first winter. There’s a half-hourly train service to the nearby station and for those finishing travelling by train and finishing their tea with time to spare will find the village and its harbour a picturesque way to pass a half hour.
I had the last piece of a very nice chocolate cake and a pot of tea, on a very busy, warm and sunny late summer’s day.
