Poppies Tea Rooms, Bradford on Avon

Date visited: Saturday 4th August 2018

A plougman’s lunch outside at Poppies Tea Rooms in Westbury Gardens, Bradford on Avon, alas now closed

Poppies Tea Rooms in Westbury Gardens, Bradford on Avon, was in the same building as the town council’s tourist information centre, and offered a range of light snacks along with cream teas. The range of teas was limited. A ploughman’s lunch with a pot of tea, sitting in the sun on a hot summer day, was quite enjoyable. A place popular with locals, Poppies was just across the road from the more upmarket Bridge Tea Rooms. Seating was provided for those taking tea both inside and at tables outside.

Poppies closed for business on Friday 19th October 2018, as the town council, who own the building, had decided to occupy the whole building, and refused to renew the lease to the proprietors.
