Lily’s Tea Rooms and Restaurant, Paignton

Date visited: Tuesday 11th September 2018

A ham sandwich and a pot of tea was just £5.45, but fairly insubstantial.

Like many old seaside resorts, Paignton’s tearoom are mainly downmarket. Though tea rooms are not renowned for their popularity amongst the younger generations, even by that standard they tend to have quite elderly patrons. Lily’s Tea Rooms are an example of this genre. Situated on Torquay Road this large tearoom offers a relatively large but unremarkable menu with a good range of cakes. Despite that, service is good, exceeding the standard of the food. On this early morning visit, a ham sandwich and a pot of tea was just £5.45, but fairly insubstantial.
