Dates visited: Friday 12th and Sunday 14th October 2018
The Brook Tea Rooms is nothing remarkable, but is Swanage’s only tea rooms and is convenient for light meals on a holiday there, and has views of the sea. It offers a wide range of hot and cold meals and, of course, a wide range of teas and cakes. On Fridays and Saturdays it is also open for evening meals, though isn’t licensed to sell alcoholic drinks. Tea can be taken both inside, in two ground floor rooms, and, if the weather is fine, outside on the promenade.
My first visit was at a lunchtime for fish, peas and chips and a pot of tea for £11.90, with a view of stormy seas courtesy of Storm Callum. I returned a couple of days later in the afternoon for a piece of their version of Dorset apple cake (rather light compared to all the others I tried) and a pot of tea for £4.35.
